With an increasing aging population; hosing for the elderly will increasing become an important sector of architecture and the pursuit of noble environments for our important seasoned citizens should become the guiding principle of the profession. This HUD funded design-build project for 46 units of assisted living and 34 units for residents in need of dementia and Alzheimer’s care is sited on a wooded lot in North East Georgia. The two resident groups are separated into two building with an enclosed connecting walkway. Craftsmen style detail was selected in order to produce a calming but stylishly rustic environment.
