After the March 1st, 2007 class F4 tornado struck Americus Georgia, many building and sites were completely destroyed; including one of the buildings in Sumter Regional Hospital’s Medical Office Park. Our task was to use the extents of the existing slab (the only part of the building not damaged beyond repair) and provide an office for two physicians and two mid-wives; with exam rooms, ultrasound, and a procedure room. The diamond relief on the entry vestibule is a riff on the medical office park’s signage.
