Woven Skin

Wood is an amazing material to study. Joinery is an art form all in itself, while wood can also bend and dance if it’s thin and strong enough. With woven baskets and molded wooden chairs as a staring point; a series of small models were created in an organic design process that ended in eight foot tall piece of sculpture. The piece is now owned by a designer and furniture dealer in Selma, Alabama.
